This year’s Willie Morris Award for Southern Fiction goes to Bren McClain for her novel, ONE GOOD MAMA BONE. Bren was honored at a reception at the NYC Yacht Club.
Head on over here, to my Q&A, where Bren talks about her rocky but rewarding path to published novelist.
Along with a $10,000 cash prize, the Willie Morris Award includes an expense-paid trip to NYC and reception.
This year, a short list of finalists included Bren, along with three other writers, as I posted about earlier.
One of those writers, J.C. Sasser, a friend of Bren’s, attended the reception.
And congratulations to Ann Kidd Taylor, who received special recognition for her novel THE SHARK CLUB.
