Mindy's next novel, Secret Keepers, will be published by St. Martin's Press in May, 2009. Secret Keepers is set in a small Southern town -- a land of neglected Confederate Monuments, faith-based shopping centers, and overgrown, seedy estates -- where a once-grand heirloom garden is covertly rescued, revealing a divided family’s secret lives of turmoil and yearning.

An excerpt from SECRET KEEPERS:

The town had moved the Confederate monument from the square to the gates of Springforth Cemetery some twenty years after the War of Northern Aggression, and General Robert E. Lee -- who stood atop the mossy marble with a scowl -- had never quite recovered.
